April 2011 Pattern of the Month

April 2011 Pattern of the Month

Well, It’s almost spring time – which to me means two things – getting to be outside without scarves and hats and gloves AND flowers! I think this headband with a flower is pretty representative of the spirit of Spring.

I haven’t yet decided if I would wear a headband this big, but there are over 550 projects on ravelry using this pattern, so obviously it is very popular.

What you need

The headband pattern requires a 4.00 mm crochet hook  and any color worsted weight yarn.

The flower pattern technically doesn’t say what size hook/yarn, but in the comments she mentions that it is the same.

The first pattern is all single crochet, while the second is a pleasant combination of single and double crochet

Comments

reading through the comments on her website and the comments on ravelry, it appears that in row three of the flower, you want to skip THREE dc, NOT 2, as the pattern suggests. Looking at the picture, I would whole heartedly agree with that.

What’s next

I seriously can’t WAIT to make one of these. bring it on spring – Im gonna look cute 🙂
