February 2011 Pattern of the Month

February 2011 Pattern of the Month

Way too cute to pass up. And these days, who doesn’t have a laptop? Now you can make a penguin sleeve to protect your laptop!

This pattern requires a 3.5 mm crochet hook (generally a size E hook), 2 buttons, and the black, yellow, and white yarn as you see here.

Now, being entirely unfamiliar with British I have to assume the entire thing is actually made in single crochet. I found this link describing conversions from British to American.

And reading through the pattern, it seems this is easily adjustable for any size. I wonder if it could be made for a cell phone? It would certainly be cutest for an electronic that is clearly a rectangle (my laptop, though rectangle, is only slightly wider than it is long).

I am hopefully going to be getting an Alienware m11x in the near future, and perhaps that will be more amiable to a penguin laptop sleeve.

Needless to say. I absolutely think everyone should own one of these. Quick and easy and absolutely adorable!
